Zapier
TechnologyWade Foster, Bryan Helmig and Mike Knoop started Zapier in 2011 after they got tired of stitching web apps by hand. Public beta and Y Combinator were in 2012. The legal name is Zapier, Inc. Mailing HQ is in San Francisco; the firm has been fully remote from day one. LinkedIn puts it in software development and privately held. The product is still Zaps: a trigger in one app fires actions in others, without writing glue code. Official about copy is blunt: humans who think computers should do more work. LinkedIn specialties are APIs, integrations and business web apps. The pitch is less busywork and more time on real work. The tagline is get your software working together, automatically. Scale now includes tables, interfaces, canvas and AI steps inside the same workflow. Follower count is under 5 million.
